New Items, NPCS, Game balance, exploits, and the Bare minimum product!


The first potion felony update is finally done.  The shop management roguelike is coming!

it has a SWATHE of polish and game tuning, with potential to seed items and NPCS in a controlled manner that is data efficient.

Polish ranged from UI size adjustments, controls, and design Game tuning resulted in the identification system, experimentation resetting + durability tracking, and features not working as intended such as REP farming grandma with her own sauce using infinite sauce exploit. Many exploits of the game have been fixed, from cheesing potions in between days to completely bypassing all selling by bargaining with the shop keep at the end of the day. Balanced RNG screwed spawns that don't align with your ingredients at all. 12 Active NPCS, many of which have some decent variation with their dialogue. Double the possible item sprites. They're all in the game. Specific items, there's a few. Interactions, dialog, and hitboxes have all been tuned toward expectations.

This update was about fixing complaints, making things look more presentable, balancing RNG focused gameplay, and building out most elements needed to interact with to succeed against the challenges presented in game.

Now that the barebones gameplay has been refactored and balanced to hell, we need more content and gameplay features.  Next up, we need the game play LOOP, progression, and end goals established.  New challenges that arise, new abilities we use to fight back.  Content that lasts longer than 5 minutes.  Specific questlines and interactions that add some charm to the cast members.

I am not done refactoring gameplay, I've just made the best version of post-jam that I could make.  Many things need to be moved, adjusted, redesigned - but for the scope of where the game is currently, NPCS and items have been balanced for the 7 weeks that are currently in the game.
